Custom CNC Collet Chuck Long Nose Extended Auto Lathe 25 Typ

We run these on Citizen and Star sliding-head lathes for the chuck body, then finish grind the bore and taper on a Junker internal grinder. Slots are cut with wire EDM to avoid burrs. Every chuck is tested with a master collet before packing.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each batch gets a unique heat number and serial range. We record material certs, grinding wheel specs, and final gauging results. If you have a problem six months later, we trace it to the exact shift and machine.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a CMM report with bore diameter, taper angle, concentricity, and slot width for every piece. No sampling guesswork. We also include a video of the final run-out check on request.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + spring + heatsink. Your collet chuck is not an island. If your assembly needs a spring-loaded pusher, a stamped retainer, or a heatsink for a motor driver, we make all of it under one roof. Fewer vendors, shorter lead times, one accountable partner.

Where these parts are used

A 28 type round bore collet chuck is the workholding core for small-diameter bar work on automatic lathes. Typical applications:

  • Watch pinions and balance staffs — bores from Ø3 mm to Ø8 mm, need sub-micron concentricity
  • Medical screw implants — titanium and stainless, batch sizes of 500–5000, require full traceability
  • Connector pins for automotive sensors — brass and free-cutting steel, high feed rates, slot wear is the failure point
  • Hydraulic valve spools — Ø10 mm to Ø20 mm, need taper accuracy to hold hydraulic clearance
  • Fastener blanks — Ø6 mm to Ø28 mm, high volume, our 65Mn version gives 2x longer life than standard 20CrMnTi

If you machine bar stock on a Swiss or automatic lathe, this chuck is the part that decides your scrap rate. We make it to hold tight.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We make one piece for prototype validation, then scale to your production quantity. Tooling cost is amortized into the unit price, so a single piece is slightly higher per unit but still firm-quoted.

Q: What tolerance can you hold on the bore and taper? A: Standard is ±0.005 mm on bore diameter and ±0.002 mm on taper angle. For high-speed auto lathe use, we recommend specifying TIR ≤0.005 mm at the nose. We verify with a CMM and a master collet before shipment.

Q: What is your lead time for a custom CNC collet chuck? A: 15–20 working days for standard materials and sizes. If you need 65Mn with special slot geometry, add 3–5 days for wire EDM. We ship DHL or FedEx, door-to-door.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. Every batch comes with a mill certificate for the raw material (20CrMnTi or 65Mn), heat treatment report, and hardness test results. No extra charge.
