What This Collection Delivers in Concrete Numbers

This is a set of 24 standard stamped steel hinge and bracket profiles, engineered for enclosures, panels, and load-bearing chassis. Each part ships with ±0.05 mm positional tolerance, surface finish Ra 1.6 µm, and a flatness runout of 0.1 mm over 100 mm length. Hardness runs 38–42 HRC on the bending zones after heat treatment. Lead time is 15 days from drawing approval, and we do not enforce a minimum order quantity.

Why Our Stamping Dies Avoid Burrs and Edge Cracks

We use a five-stage progressive die with a clearance of 5% of material thickness per side. That clearance prevents rollover and fracture zones on the hinge pin holes. The die inserts are made from D2 tool steel, hardened to 60 HRC, and re-ground after every 50,000 strokes. You get a clean shear edge with less than 0.05 mm burr height on the critical pivot areas. No secondary deburring is needed for most hinge models.

Material Grades and Heat Treatment We Apply

Standard offerings are SPCC (cold-rolled steel) for general use, SECC (electrogalvanized) for corrosion resistance, and 65Mn spring steel for hinge leaves that need elastic recovery. For 65Mn, we austenitize at 820 °C, oil quench, then temper at 350 °C to reach 40–45 HRC. SPCC parts are case-hardened to 0.2 mm depth only on the pin holes to extend cycle life without making the leaf brittle. Full material certificates are included with every batch.

Surface Finishing Options That Actually Hold Paint

We offer three standard finishes: zinc plating (8–12 µm thickness), black oxide (2–3 µm), and powder coating (60–80 µm). Before any finish, parts are degreased in an ultrasonic bath and then pass through a phosphate conversion layer. This ensures adhesion per ASTM D3359, grade 5B. For outdoor cabinet hinges, we recommend zinc-nickel plating with a trivalent passivate, passing 200 hours of neutral salt spray without red rust.

Inspection Before Every Shipment — Not Just Sampling

Every lot is checked on a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) with a resolution of 0.001 mm. We measure the hinge pin hole diameter, the distance between mounting holes, and the flatness of the leaf after bending. For runout, we use a dial indicator at 0.01 mm precision on a V-block. A full dimensional report is emailed to you within 24 hours of inspection. If any part exceeds tolerance, the entire batch is rejected, not just the offending piece.

How We Handle Custom Hinge and Bracket Geometry

If you need a hinge with a non-standard pin offset or a bracket with a complex louver pattern, we modify the progressive die for a flat tooling charge of $600–$1,200 depending on the number of stations. The tool steel die is built in 10 days, and sample parts ship in 3 days after that. We keep the die in our warehouse for 5 years, so reorders are just raw material cost plus stamping time. You own the die after the first 5,000 parts.

What is the minimum order for this collection?

There is no MOQ — we can stamp a single hinge for prototype validation, though per-piece cost drops significantly above 1,000 units.

Can you customize the hole pattern on the mounting leaf?

Yes, we alter the punch locations on the die for any hole size, slot shape, or counterbore up to 10 mm deep within 3 days of drawing approval.

How do you verify quality on painted or plated surfaces?

We test coating thickness with an eddy-current gauge, perform a cross-hatch adhesion test, and run a 72-hour humidity test per ASTM D1748 on every finished batch.

What is the typical lead time for a repeat order?

Repeat orders on existing dies are 10 days for raw material and stamping, plus 3 days for surface finishing, making a total of 13 days from purchase order.

Shipping, Packing, and Palletizing for Export

Parts are packed in double-walled cartons with foam inserts to prevent hinge-to-hinge contact during ocean freight. For electroplated parts, we add anti-tarnish paper (VCI) inside each box. A standard 20-foot container holds about 40,000 small hinges (50 mm leaf) or 8,000 large brackets (200 mm leaf). We ship FOB Shenzhen or CIF to your port — you choose. All exports include commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin.

Before you finalize your design, check our CNC cutting tool selection guide to understand how tool wear affects stamped edge quality. Also review the CNC machining tolerances guide to see how our ±0.05 mm compares to industry standard stamping classes.
