What This Collection Covers and Why It Matters for Your Assembly

The Mixed Type Industrial Springs Collection is a single-source solution for compression, torsion, tension, and wire form springs produced under one roof at our Dongguan factory. You get tolerance control at ±0.01 mm on critical diameters, surface finish down to Ra 0.8, and hardness held to HRC 42–52 depending on material and load requirements. Lead time starts at 7 days for prototypes and 15 days for production runs, which means your machine build or product launch does not wait on a single spring supplier.

We have run this facility since 2004, combining CNC coiling, stamping, and grinding into one workflow. Every spring in this collection is made to your drawing, not to a catalog guess. That is the concrete benefit: you send a load specification, a space envelope, or a fatigue life target, and we return a spring that fits and performs on the first test.

Spring Types We Coil and Form on CNC Equipment

This collection is not a random bin of parts. It is a structured capability list. We produce compression springs with closed and ground ends, torsion springs with specific leg angles, tension springs with loops or hooks, and conical or barrel-shaped springs for limited space envelopes.

Wire diameter ranges from 0.1 mm to 12 mm. Maximum outside diameter is 80 mm. Free length can reach 300 mm. For stamping-based spring clips or flat springs, we use progressive dies with a thickness range of 0.05 mm to 4.0 mm. All coiling runs on CNC machines, so the pitch, coil count, and end geometry repeat across thousands of pieces without drift.

Materials and Heat Treatment We Use for Fatigue Life

Material choice determines whether your spring survives 10,000 cycles or 1,000,000 cycles. We stock and process five main families: music wire (ASTM A228) for general use, oil-tempered chrome silicon (ASTM A401) for high stress and elevated temperatures, stainless steel 302 and 316 for corrosion resistance, phosphor bronze for electrical conductivity, and Inconel X-750 for extreme heat up to 650°C.

Heat treatment is done in-house. For music wire and chrome silicon, we stress-relieve at 230–260°C to remove coiling stress. For stainless and Inconel, we use solution annealing followed by age hardening to reach the required HRC range. If you specify a preset or scragging process to prevent length loss under load, we include that step before finishing.

Grinding, Edge Finishing, and Surface Protection

Compression springs that need square ends get double-disc ground faces. We hold flatness of the end surface within 0.05 mm and squareness within 2 degrees. For torsion springs, we deburr the leg tips to avoid stress risers. For tension springs, we weld or bend hooks with controlled gap dimensions so they do not open under load.

Surface finish depends on your environment. Standard is plain oiled. For washdown or outdoor use, we offer zinc plating (yellow or blue), electroless nickel, or black oxide. If the spring sits in a corrosive chemical bath, we apply epoxy coating with a thickness of 15–25 microns. We also offer shot peening for high-cycle applications, which can increase fatigue life by up to 40% compared to unpeened parts.

Inspection Before Every Shipment

We do not ship a spring that only looks right. Every lot goes through a 100% dimensional check on outer diameter, free length, and wire diameter using digital calipers and optical comparators. For load testing, we use a compression/tension tester with an accuracy of ±0.5% of full scale. We verify rate (N/mm) at 20%, 50%, and 80% of your specified deflection.

For critical applications, we add a fatigue test on a sample from each batch to confirm cycle life. We also check surface defects under 10x magnification for cracks, pits, or tool marks. A full inspection report with Cpk values is included with every shipment, free of charge. If you need third-party inspection (SGS, TUV), we coordinate that at the factory before packing.

How to Spec Your Custom Spring Without Guesswork

Send us a drawing, a CAD file (STEP, IGES, or PDF), or a simple sketch with the critical dimensions. If you only have a space envelope and a load requirement, that is enough. Our engineers will calculate the wire diameter, coil count, and material to meet your deflection and fatigue targets. We respond with a DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review within 24 hours, pointing out any tolerance that is tighter than standard and suggesting a cost-effective alternative.

If you are unsure about tolerance classes, read our CNC cutting tool selection guide for a breakdown of spring tolerance grades. For general machining limits that affect spring seats or mating parts, check the CNC machining tolerances guide to align your drawing with realistic shop capabilities.

Pricing, Tooling, and No MOQ Policy

There is no minimum order quantity for the Mixed Type Industrial Springs Collection. You can order 10 pieces for a prototype test or 100,000 pieces for mass production. Tooling cost is only charged when a custom forming die or grinding fixture is needed. For standard wire diameters and end forms, we waive tooling entirely. Unit price drops as volume increases, with a typical 30% reduction when moving from 1,000 to 10,000 pieces.

We also offer a consignment inventory program. We hold your spring stock in our warehouse and ship on your release schedule, cutting your lead time to 48 hours. This works well for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations that need spare springs without carrying heavy inventory.

What is the minimum order quantity for a custom spring?

There is no MOQ—you can order a single prototype or a full production batch.

Can you match a spring from a sample I send by courier?

Yes, we reverse-engineer the sample by measuring dimensions, wire material, and load curve, then produce a matching spring with tolerance confirmation within 5 days.

How do you ensure quality for a high-volume order?

We use SPC on critical dimensions, perform 100% inspection for diameter and free length, and provide a Cpk report with every lot.

What is the fastest lead time for a production run of 5,000 pieces?

For standard materials like music wire or 302 stainless, we can ship 5,000 pieces in 15 days after drawing approval.
