Screws add assembly time and require torque control. Loose springs rattle and lose pressure. A stamped heatsink clip is one piece: it snaps over the heatsink fin or PCB hole, applies a fixed downward force of 8–15N (depending on material and thickness), and never loosens from vibration. If any sample fails, the entire batch is re-sorted or re-stamped. A full inspection report with material certificates is included in the shipment — no extra charge. Bare stainless clips come at Ra 0.8µm. For spring steel, we apply zinc plating (8–12µm) with clear or yellow chromate, giving 72 hours of salt spray resistance. Need black? We do black oxide (0.5–1.5µm) for a matte finish that reduces glare in optical assemblies. All finishes are RoHS compliant and lead-free. If you must avoid any coating, we can supply oiled or dry-lubricated clips — just specify on your drawing.
Standard clips from the collection ship in 7 days — no tooling charge. Custom clips require a new progressive die: 15–20 days for tooling, then 7 days for production. Tooling cost ranges from $800 to $2,500 depending on clip complexity (number of bends, holes, and tolerances). We keep your die in our toolroom free for 5 years; subsequent orders only pay per-part cost. The die is insured and documented with CAD files sent to you.
