Chain drive failure is almost always tooth wear or pitch mismatch. Most sprocket suppliers ignore dynamic balance above 3,000 RPM. We don't. We do not guess — we measure. Every sprocket goes through a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) with a 0.5 mm ruby probe scanning the tooth flanks. We compare the measured profile to the theoretical involute using your chain manufacturer's data (e.g., Rexnord, Tsubaki, or ISO 606). We check that the chain sits at the correct seating depth — not too high (jumping) and not too low (binding). For sprockets with hardened teeth, we run a Rockwell test on a sacrificial test piece from the same batch, not on the sprocket itself.
