Stamped speaker grille and mesh panels
A speaker grille is a perforation job: hundreds of holes in one press stroke, with the open area matching the acoustic design. We stamp grilles and mesh panels from cold rolled steel, stainless steel or aluminium, 0.5 to 2.0 mm thick.
The perforation die is built to the hole size and pitch you specify, round, hexagonal or slotted. Panels leave the press flat, so they do not oil-can when they are screwed down onto the enclosure, and burr height is held under 0.05 mm at the hole edge.

FAQ
Does powder coating close the holes?
No. The coating is 60 to 90 microns and the holes are measured before and after coating on the sample. We can also mask the mesh face if the opening has to stay exact.
Can you match the screw holes of an existing enclosure?
Yes. Send the enclosure drawing or a sample panel; the mounting holes and the dish angle are built into the die, so a replacement grille drops in.
What open area should a subwoofer grille have?
For a subwoofer we usually run 45 to 60 percent open area with a heavier gauge so the mesh does not rattle. Tell us the driver size and we will match the pattern.
Will the mesh rust outdoors?
For outdoor use we stamp stainless 304 or aluminium with an anodised finish. Cold rolled steel is only recommended for indoor, dry enclosures.
