Opening

Your ER16 spring collet is a wear part. It holds the tool, and the tool holds the tolerance. If the collet is off, the part is off. We machine ER16 collets to your exact drawing, not to a generic catalog spec. Every collet is inspected before shipment. We do not ship borderline parts.

At a glance: ER16 collet, 0.005 mm TIR (runout) on the bore, 45 HRC hardness after heat treatment, 7–10 working days lead time, no MOQ. One piece or one thousand, same process.

We are a precision manufacturing factory in Dongguan, China. Twenty years of CNC machining experience. Our customers send drawings, not vague requests. We return verified parts.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck Sets ER11 to ER40 Precision Made in

We use centerless grinding for the outer taper. This is not a lathe-only operation. Grinding gives you repeatable concentricity across a batch. Laser cutting for the slits ensures the gap is consistent, which directly affects clamping force.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each heat treatment batch gets a unique code. We record material lot, machine operator, and inspection results. If you have a failure in the field, we can trace it back to the exact batch and process parameters. You get a traceability sheet with every shipment.

2. Inspection report per batch. We do not send a generic certificate. You receive a dimensional report with actual measured values for bore diameter, taper angle, hardness, and runout. CMM data is included for critical features. If a dimension is out of spec, we reject the part before it reaches you.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + springs + heat sinks. Your collet is not an isolated part. It sits in a chuck, which sits in a spindle, which sits in a machine that also needs springs, stamped retainers, or heat sinks. We make all of these in-house. You send one drawing package, we coordinate the entire supply chain. Fewer vendors, less shipping, faster root-cause analysis.

Where these parts are used

ER16 collets are not just for hobby spindles. We supply them for:

  • CNC machining centers – tool holding for end mills and drills up to 10 mm shank diameter.
  • Automatic lathes – Swiss-type and sliding headstock machines where runout directly affects part roundness.
  • Robotic deburring cells – collets hold the deburring tool; consistent clamping prevents chatter marks.
  • PCB drilling machines – high-speed spindles at 60,000+ RPM require balanced, precision collets.
  • Medical device manufacturing – small diameter cutting tools for implants and surgical instruments, where 0.005 mm runout is the difference between pass and reject.

If your application involves a rotating tool or workpiece, the collet is the weakest link. We make that link stronger.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We machine one piece for prototyping and scale to 10,000 pieces without changing the process. The per-piece price drops with quantity, but the first piece is made to the same standard as the last.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality? A: We use CMM inspection on every batch, not just sample checks. Bore runout is verified on a precision mandrel. Hardness is tested on a Rockwell tester. We send the report with the parts. If you find a defect, we replace the batch at no cost.

Q: What is your lead time? A: Standard ER16 collets ship in 7 working days. Custom geometry with non-standard tapers or materials takes 10–12 days. For urgent orders, we can split the batch – ship what is ready first, then the rest.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. We provide mill certificates for the raw material, heat treatment reports, and a declaration of conformity. All materials are traceable to the original supplier. If you need third-party inspection, we coordinate with SGS or TÜV at your cost.

Send your drawing
