Opening

Your 2J collet chuck starts as raw bar stock and ends as a verified, drop-in toolholder. We machine it to your drawing, not a catalog standard. Every critical dimension is checked on a CMM before the part leaves our floor.

At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on bore and taper, surface finish Ra 0.4, lead time 7-12 days, no MOQ.

We have run 2J collet chucks for Swiss lathes, CNC turning centers, and live tooling turrets for over 20 years. If you need a custom thread pitch, a modified taper angle, or a special pull-back design, we build it.

We grind the 2J taper in-house. We do not outsource the critical geometry. This keeps the runout consistent from the first piece to the last.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each heat of steel gets a unique lot number. We record the material cert, machining parameters, and inspection results for that lot. If you have a problem six months later, we can trace it back to the exact shift and operator.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a dimensional report with every shipment. It lists all critical features: taper angle, bore diameter, concentricity, and hardness. No generic "certificate of conformance." You see the actual measured values.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + springs + heat sinks. Your collet chuck is not an isolated part. If your assembly also needs a spring collet, a stamped retainer, or a heat sink for the spindle drive, we make all of it under one roof. Fewer suppliers, fewer logistics headaches, one accountable partner.

Where these parts are used

Custom CNC collet chucks are not shelf items. Our customers use them in:

  • Swiss-type lathes for medical bone screws and dental implants, where runout below 0.005 mm is mandatory.
  • Multi-spindle automatics for high-volume brass fittings, requiring a hardened chuck that survives millions of cycles.
  • Live tooling turrets on CNC turning centers, where the 2J collet holds a driven tool shank.
  • Secondary operations on manual lathes for prototype shops that need a custom thread or a longer nose length than standard.
  • Automotive fuel injector bodies, where the chuck must grip thin-walled tubing without distortion.

In every case, the chuck is machined to match the specific spindle nose and the specific workpiece. That is why we never stock "universal" chucks.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We make one piece for a prototype or 5,000 pieces for production. The per-piece price drops with quantity, but we do not force you to buy more than you need.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality? A: We grind the taper and bore on dedicated cylindrical grinders. Each chuck is inspected on a CMM and an air gauge for taper contact. We send you the inspection report with the shipment. If a part is out of spec, we replace it at no cost.

Q: What is your lead time for a custom 2J collet chuck? A: 7 days for a prototype or a single piece. 10-12 days for production batches. If you need it faster, tell us—we can split the batch and ship partial quantities.

Q: Can you provide material certificates and heat treatment reports? A: Yes. Every batch comes with a mill certificate for the raw material and a heat treatment report showing hardness and case depth. We also provide a RoHS or REACH declaration if required.
