We use progressive dies with pilot pins that re-register the strip at every station. This eliminates cumulative error that open-tolerance stampers accept. For panels over 300mm wide, we add a secondary CNC coining pass to correct any thermal distortion from the stamping hit. The result is a hole pattern that matches your CAD file within 0.05mm true position, verified on a CMM with a 0.001mm resolution probe.
Our stamping dies are cut from D2 tool steel, hardened to 60–62 HRC, then cryogenically treated to −120°C. This removes retained austenite, so the die edges do not micro-crack after 100,000 hits. For abrasive materials like 304 stainless or galvanized steel, we apply a titanium nitride coating on the punch faces. This extends die life to 500,000 strokes before you see any burr height increase above 0.05mm.
We keep coils of 304, 316L stainless, cold-rolled steel (SPCC), and aluminum 5052 in thicknesses from 0.3mm to 3.0mm. For acoustic panels, we offer copper and brass in 0.5mm and 0.8mm. All coils come with mill certificates traceable to the heat number. If you need a specific alloy like 17-4PH, we can procure it with a 5-day lead time added to the standard 15-day stamping schedule.
Every batch goes through a three-stage check. First, a vision system with a 5MP camera measures hole diameter and pitch across 20 random locations per panel. Second, a coordinate measuring machine checks true position on critical holes that mate with fasteners. Third, we measure burr height with a digital micrometer at the edges of each hole—acceptance limit is 0.05mm maximum, but our average is 0.02mm. We include a PDF inspection report with every shipment.
As-stamped parts come off at Ra 1.6 on the flat areas and Ra 3.2 inside the holes. If you need lower friction for sliding applications, we can add a vibratory deburring pass that brings the entire surface to Ra 0.8. For outdoor enclosures, we offer powder coating in RAL colors at 60–80 microns thickness. Electropolishing for stainless mesh is available too, achieving a mirror finish at Ra 0.2.
For prototype quantities under 500 pieces, we use wire-cut EDM to produce a single-station tool that costs $800–$1,500 depending on hole count. For production runs above 5,000 pieces, a progressive die costs $3,000–$8,000 but amortizes to less than $0.01 per part. We do not charge a separate tooling fee if your order quantity exceeds 20,000 pieces per year—the die cost is absorbed into the piece price.
Panels are interleaved with kraft paper and stacked on wooden pallets that meet ISPM-15 heat treatment standards for export. Small mesh sheets go into corrugated cartons with foam edge protectors. We ship via sea freight from Shenzhen port (FOB or CIF) or via air express with DHL/UPS for urgent orders under 50kg. Average transit time to the US West Coast is 12 days by sea, 3 days by air.
