Opening

This is a CNC machined auto lathe 25 type external thread extended collet, made to your drawing. We machine it from solid stock, cut the external thread to class 6g, and verify the taper angle before shipment. Every piece is checked for runout and concentricity. No exceptions.

At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on bore and taper, surface finish Ra 0.4, lead time 7–10 working days, no MOQ. Custom CNC collet chuck, made in China, shipped with an inspection report per batch.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck Manufacturing

We use CNC grinding for the bore and taper after heat treatment. This gives consistent geometry. We do not skip the grinding step. If you need a special slot, keyway, or ejection hole, we cut it with wire EDM after grinding.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each batch gets a heat number, a material lot number, and a process card. If a problem shows up in your assembly line, we trace it back to the exact heat treatment cycle and grinding wheel. You get a full traceability report with the shipment.

2. Inspection report per batch. We do not just say "we check." You receive a dimensional report with actual measured values for bore, taper, thread pitch diameter, and runout. The report is signed by the QC engineer. For critical dimensions, we include Cpk values. If you need a third-party inspection (SGS, TÜV), we arrange it at cost.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + spring + heat sink. Your collet is not the only part. You may also need a spring for the collet closer, a stamped retainer plate, or a heat sink for the spindle motor. We make all of them under one roof. One purchase order, one quality system, one shipping date. This shortens your supply chain and reduces your inspection workload.

Where these parts are used

The 25 type external thread extended collet is used in automatic lathes (Swiss-type and sliding headstock) for gripping bar stock. Typical applications:

  • Watch and clock parts – pinions, gears, balance staffs, where runout below 0.005 mm is mandatory.
  • Medical device components – bone screws, dental implant abutments, small surgical instruments, where material traceability is required.
  • Electronic connectors – contact pins, socket terminals, where surface finish affects plating adhesion.
  • Automotive fuel injection – nozzle needles, armatures, where batch consistency matters over thousands of pieces.
  • Aerospace fasteners – small titanium and Inconel screws, where the collet must hold tight without marking the material.

In all these cases, the extended nose reaches deep into the guide bushing area, reducing bar vibration and improving concentricity. The external thread lets you mount the collet directly onto the spindle nose without a separate adapter.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We make one piece for prototype testing. For production, we suggest ordering at least 50 pieces to amortize the grinding wheel setup, but we accept 10 pieces if that is your need.

Q: How do you control tolerance and quality? A: We grind the bore and taper after heat treatment. We measure with a bore gauge and a calibrated taper ring. Runout is checked on a precision spindle with a dial indicator. Each batch gets an inspection report. If a dimension is out of spec, the piece is scrapped, not reworked.

Q: What is your lead time? A: 7–10 working days for prototypes (1–10 pieces). 15–20 working days for production quantities. If you need faster, we can split the batch and ship the first 20% in 5 days. Air freight is on you, but we handle the booking.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. We provide a mill certificate for the raw material, a heat treatment certificate with hardness values, and a plating certificate if you specify plating. All certificates are in English and included in the shipment.
