Opening

This is a CNC machined auto lathe 46 type small bore spring collet, made to your drawing. We do not sell off-the-shelf approximations. We machine the exact bore diameter, taper angle, slot width, and relief geometry you specify.

Every collet is verified before shipment. We check bore runout, taper contact, and slot symmetry on a CMM. If it does not match your drawing, it does not ship.

  • Tolerance: ±0.005 mm on bore and taper
  • Lead time: 7–12 days for standard materials
  • No MOQ: order 1 piece or 1,000 pieces
  • Material: 65Mn, 60Si2MnA, 9SiCr, or 42CrMo
  • Hardness: 42–48 HRC after heat treatment
  • Surface finish: Ra 0.4 µm on bore, Ra 0.8 µm elsewhere

This is precision manufacturing for workholding, not a commodity part. Send us your drawing, and we will confirm machinability and price within 12 hours.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck 36 Type Hex Bore Auto Lathe Parts

We use CNC turning for the outer profile and bore, then CNC milling for the slots. The taper is ground on a cylindrical grinder to hold the ±0.005 mm tolerance. Slot width is held to ±0.02 mm. Spring-back is controlled by heat treatment parameters, not by guesswork.

Three Reasons Buyers Send Us Their Drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Every heat lot is tracked. We record material batch number, heat treatment furnace log, and final inspection data for each production run. If you need to trace a part failure, we can tell you exactly when it was hardened and who measured it. This is not typical for Chinese collet suppliers.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a dimensional report for every batch, not a sample. The report includes bore diameter, taper angle, slot width, hardness, and runout for each piece or per sampling plan (AQL 0.65). We also provide material certificates from the mill.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + springs + heat sinks. Your collet is not the only part you need. We run CNC machining, metal stamping, spring coiling, and heat sink fabrication under one roof. Send us your full assembly drawing, and we will quote the collet, the return spring, and the mounting bracket together. Fewer suppliers, fewer logistics headaches, one quality standard.

Where These Parts Are Used

This collet is for automatic lathes and CNC turning centers that use 46-type collet chucks. Typical applications:

  • Swiss-type lathes for small diameter bar stock, 3–20 mm, in medical device manufacturing
  • Multi-spindle automatic lathes for high-volume brass and aluminum parts, such as valve bodies and fittings
  • CNC turning centers for secondary operations on pre-machined blanks, where the bore must grip a finished diameter without marking it
  • Spring collets in feed fingers for bar feeders, where the small bore holds the bar during push-out cycles

The 46-type collet is common in Asian-built automatic lathes. If your machine uses a 46 series chuck, this collet drops in. We also make custom variants with reduced bore depth, special slot patterns, or coated surfaces (TiN or CrN) for abrasive materials.

Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We make one prototype for your fit test, then scale up. Tooling cost is amortized into the unit price for the first batch, not charged separately.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality? A: We machine to your drawing, not to a generic standard. Each collet is measured on a CMM and an optical comparator. Bore runout is held to ≤0.005 mm TIR. We send a full inspection report with the shipment. If a part is out of spec, we replace it at no cost.

Q: What is your lead time? A: 7–12 days for standard materials like 65Mn or 60Si2MnA. If you need 42CrMo or a special coating, add 3–5 days. For urgent orders, we can expedite to 5 days for a 15% surcharge.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. We provide mill certificates for the raw material, heat treatment reports, and hardness test results. All documents are in English and stamped by our QC department.

Send Your Drawing

Send us your drawing for a firm quote. We reply within 12 hours with price, lead time, and a manufacturability review. If your design has a tight tolerance or an unusual slot pattern, we will tell you upfront what is achievable and what is not.
