5-Axis Machining and How We Kill Runout on Critical Bores

Runout on a hinge bore is what causes uneven wear on your pivot pins. We machine bores with a Ø 0.01 mm tolerance and then finish with a custom reamer. For a typical bracket with two coaxial bores 120 mm apart, we hold concentricity to 0.02 mm. Using a 5-axis DMG MORI mill, we cut the part in two setups max. How We Handle Thin Walls and Deep Pockets Without Chatter

Thin web sections (below 1.5 mm) are where most shops fail. We use trochoidal milling with a 6 mm carbide end mill at 12,000 RPM and a chip load of 0.02 mm per tooth.
