This is a CNC machined pump impeller, cut from solid bar or billet, not cast. The benefit is simple: you get a vane profile that holds ±0.005 mm tolerance and 0.02 mm total runout. That means less vibration, longer seal life, and higher pump efficiency. We ship standard lead time of 15 days, with hardness up to 45 HRC for abrasive fluids.
Cast impellers have internal porosity and inconsistent vane thickness. We machine from 6061-T6 aluminum, 316L stainless, or duplex 2205. The tool path removes material in a spiral roughing sequence, then a 0.2 mm finish pass. The result: a vane surface with Ra 0.8 µm, no draft angle, and no hidden voids. You design the 3D profile; we hold it to the model, not to a pattern.
Most pump impellers have twisted vanes that a 3-axis mill cannot reach without re-fixturing. We use 5-axis simultaneous machining. This means the tool tilts to keep a constant chip load on the vane's pressure side and suction side. We can machine exit angles as steep as 15 degrees without leaving a witness line. For closed impellers, we use a custom stub-length end mill with a 0.5 mm corner radius to access the shroud gap.
Unbalanced impellers cause shaft fatigue and seal wear. We do a two-plane dynamic balance on every impeller above 100 mm diameter. The limit is G2.5 per ISO 1940-1, which translates to 0.02 mm runout at the hub bore. For high-speed pumps (over 3000 RPM), we offer G1.0 balancing as a standard option. We also grind the hub bore to H7 fit after machining, so your shaft insertion is repeatable.
For clean water, 6061-T6 aluminum is fine. For seawater, we use 316L or super duplex 2507. For slurry pumps, we machine from 17-4 PH stainless, then heat treat to 45 HRC. Hard coating options include electroless nickel (50 µm) and tungsten carbide spray (300 µm) for sand-laden fluids. We do not cast, so you get the full wrought material density — no micro-porosity, no sand inclusions.
Every impeller goes through a Zeiss CMM with a 0.5 µm probe. We check vane thickness at 10 points per blade, hub bore diameter, and face runout. For critical jobs, we include a written report with the actual measured values. We also do a dye penetrant test on stainless parts to confirm no surface cracks. You get the data file, not just a certificate.
Standard lead time is 15 working days from drawing approval. For a rush order of up to 50 pieces, we can do 7 days with a 20% surcharge. We ship via DHL or FedEx for small batches, or sea freight for over 200 kg. Every impeller is wrapped in VCI paper and boxed in foam — no bare metal contact during transit. We also mark the part with a laser-etched batch number inside the hub bore.

No MOQ — we machine a single prototype impeller for testing, then scale to production after approval.
Yes, send any STEP, IGES, or Parasolid file; our engineers check for tool access and suggest a modified tool path if the vane angle exceeds 15 degrees.
We use a Zeiss CMM to measure vane thickness, bore diameter, and runout, and we include the measured report with every shipment.
For up to 50 pieces, we can ship in 7 working days with a rush surcharge, but standard 15-day lead time is preferred to maintain full quality checks.
