Opening

This is a precision-machined auto lathe 20-type spring collet with a hex bore, made to your exact drawing. We do not stock generic blanks. Every collet is cut, heat-treated, and ground in our Dongguan factory, then verified for bore geometry and spring tension before shipment.

If your drawing specifies a hex bore for a 20-type auto lathe spindle, we hold the internal hex to tight angular and dimensional limits. The result is a collet that grips the workpiece without deformation and releases cleanly.

At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on bore and hex, lead time 7–12 days, no MOQ, material certs included.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck Set 36 46 Type Precision Made in Chi

All collets are made in China under ISO 9001:2015 process control. We use the same fixtures for a 1-piece sample and a 10,000-piece run, so the first article matches the last.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each heat treatment batch gets a unique code. We record furnace temperature curves and hardness readings for that code. If you need to trace a failure, we can show you the exact process data for your collet's batch. No mixing of batches, no lost records.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a dimensional report with actual measured values, not just a pass/fail stamp. For hex bores, we measure across flats at three depths and report angular error. For taper seats, we check contact area with a master gauge. The report is emailed with your shipment.

3. One factory for CNC, stamping, springs, and heat sinks. Your collet chuck assembly often needs a spring, a stamped retainer, or a heat sink for the spindle motor. We run all four lines under one roof. You send us the whole assembly drawing, we coordinate the parts internally, and you receive one shipment with one set of documents. Fewer suppliers, shorter lead time, no finger-pointing.

Where these parts are used

The 20-type hex bore collet is standard for Swiss-type automatic lathes and small CNC turning centers that drive hex bar stock. Typical applications:

  • Hex fasteners: Screws, bolts, and nuts machined from hex bar. The collet holds the hex profile so the cutter can form threads, heads, and chamfers without the stock rotating in the grip.
  • Hydraulic fittings: Hex bodies for valves, adapters, and quick couplings. The bore keeps the part oriented for cross-drilling or milling flats.
  • Electrical connectors: Hex brass or copper inserts for terminals and bushings. The collet's concentricity prevents wall-thickness variation on thin-walled parts.
  • Medical device components: Small titanium or stainless hex parts for surgical instruments. The spring temper holds delicate stock without marking the surface.
  • Automotive sensors: Hex sensor bodies for ABS and pressure monitoring. Batch consistency matters here—our ±0.005 mm bore tolerance keeps every part seated the same way.

If your spindle uses a 20-type taper, this collet fits standard 20-type collet chucks. We can also modify the taper angle or head style per your chuck's specification.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is the minimum order quantity? A: No MOQ. We make one piece for prototyping at the same per-piece quality as a production run. Tooling and setup are included in the unit price, not charged separately.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance on the hex bore? A: We cut the hex with wire EDM, then grind the bore if your drawing requires it. Every collet is checked with a calibrated hex plug gauge at three depths. The inspection report shows the actual measured values.

Q: What is the lead time for a custom collet? A: Prototype in 7 days, production batch in 12 days from drawing approval. For urgent orders, we can expedite to 5 days at a 15% surcharge.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. Each batch includes a mill certificate for the raw material and our heat treatment report. For aerospace or medical applications, we can provide full traceability documentation at no extra cost.

Send your drawing

Send us your drawing in PDF, STEP, or IGES format. We will review the hex dimensions, taper angle, and material specification, then send you a firm quote within 12 hours. No obligation, no design fee for standard 20-type collets.
