Custom CNC Collet Chuck 46 Type Triangle Bore Spring Collet

We grind the bore after heat treatment. This removes distortion and holds the ±0.005 mm spec. Slots are wire-cut, not milled, for consistent spring action across the full length. The square bore is broached or wire-cut depending on your corner radius requirement.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each batch gets a unique job number. Raw material heat number, heat treat furnace log, and final inspection data are linked to that number. If a problem appears in your line, we trace it back to the exact melt and process step. This is standard for us, not a premium service.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a dimensional report with actual measured values, not just a pass/fail tick box. We record bore diameter, square width, concentricity, and hardness for each sample. CMM data for critical features. You can file this with your own QC records.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + spring + heatsink. Your collet is a spring mechanism. We make springs in-house. Your assembly may need a stamped retainer or a machined housing. We make those too. One purchase order, one responsible party, one shipping date. No coordinating three suppliers across time zones.

Where these parts are used

The 42-type square bore collet fits automatic lathes with a 42 mm spindle capacity. Common on Citizen, Star, and Tsugami Swiss-type machines, plus fixed-headstock autos from Index and Traub. The square bore holds square or hex stock for parts like:

  • Valve components with square drive ends
  • Fastener blanks requiring hex or square cross-sections
  • Electrical connector pins with square shoulders
  • Hydraulic fittings with wrench flats
  • Medical implant drivers with square torque ends

The spring collet design allows bar stock to feed through while gripping firmly during machining. The square bore prevents rotation of the workpiece under cutting load. This is critical for milling flats or drilling cross-holes without a secondary indexing operation.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We make one piece for prototype validation or 10,000 for production. The per-piece price drops with quantity, but the first article is the same quality as the last.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance on the square bore? A: We grind the bore after heat treat. The square is wire-cut to ±0.01 mm, then we verify with a CMM. If your print calls for tighter, we can lap the bore to ±0.003 mm. Send your drawing and we will confirm the process.

Q: What is your lead time? A: 10 working days for prototypes, 15 for production batches. Rush service available for an additional charge. We ship DHL or FedEx, door to door.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. Mill test certificates for raw material, heat treat reports, and hardness certificates are included with every shipment. Additional documentation like PPAP Level 3 is available on request.

Send your drawing

We quote from your PDF, STEP, or IGES file. No drawing? Send a sketch with dimensions and we will work from that. Firm quote in 12 hours, not a range. We tell you exactly what we can hold, what we cannot, and what it costs.
