## Opening This is a 48-type round bore spring collet chuck, machined to your exact drawing. We verify every dimension before shipment. No guesswork. No surprises.

  • Tolerance: ±0.005 mm on bore and taper
  • Lead time: 7–12 days for standard materials
  • No MOQ – order one prototype or 1,000 pieces
  • Material certs available with every batch

You send the drawing. We machine the part. You get a collet that fits your spindle and holds your workpiece true.

## Specifications We run these on CNC lathes and Swiss-type auto lathes. The 48 type refers to the body diameter and pull-back taper geometry. Round bore means the gripping surface is cylindrical, not hex or square.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck Waist Slot Machining

We use wire-cut EDM for the slots. This gives clean, burr-free edges and consistent slot width. The bore is ground after hardening to hold the ±0.005 mm tolerance. Each collet is tested for spring-back and concentricity before packing.

## Three reasons buyers send us their drawings 1. Batch-traceable quality Every batch gets a unique lot number. We track material heat number, machine operator, and inspection results. If you have a problem, we trace it to the exact step. No ambiguity.

2. Inspection report per batch You get a full dimensional report with every shipment. Bore diameter, taper angle, hardness, surface finish – all measured and recorded. We use CMM and optical comparators. The report is signed by our QC lead.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + spring + heatsink Your collet chuck is often part of a larger assembly. We also run CNC machining, metal stamping, springs, and heat sinks under one roof. Send us the full BOM. We coordinate all parts, one shipping date, one invoice. Fewer vendors, fewer delays.

## Where these parts are used A 48 type round bore collet chuck is used in automatic lathes and screw machines. It holds round bar stock or pre-machined parts during turning, drilling, and threading operations.

  • Watch and instrument parts – small shafts, pinions, and bushings, where concentricity under 0.01 mm is critical.
  • Automotive components – fuel injector nozzles, valve guides, and sensor housings. High volume, tight tolerances.
  • Medical device parts – bone screws, dental implant abutments, and surgical drill bits. Material traceability is mandatory.
  • Connectors and electronics – brass or stainless pins for electrical contacts. The collet must hold without marking the surface.
  • Aerospace fasteners – titanium and Inconel bolts, where tool wear is high and replacement collets are needed regularly.

In each case, the collet is a wear part. It gets replaced after a certain number of cycles. That means repeat orders. Buyers who find a reliable supplier stay with them.

## Questions buyers ask before ordering Q: Do you have a MOQ? A: No. We accept one piece for prototype validation. For production, we suggest ordering in multiples of 10 to save on setup cost, but it's not required.

Q: What tolerance can you hold on the bore? A: ±0.005 mm on the bore and taper after grinding. For the slot width, we hold ±0.02 mm. If you need tighter, we can discuss – but it will affect lead time and price.

Q: How long is lead time? A: Standard materials (65Mn, 4140) ship in 7–12 days. Hard-to-find materials like 9SiCr or custom heat treatment may take 15–20 days. We confirm the exact date when we quote.

Q: Can you provide material certificates? A: Yes. Every batch includes a mill certificate for the raw material and a heat treatment report. We also provide hardness test results per batch. Just specify if you need third-party inspection.

## Send your drawing We quote firm within 12 hours. Send your PDF or STEP file. We check the bore size, taper angle, and slot configuration. You get a price and a delivery date. No obligation.
