Opening

You need a collet that holds a hex bar stock without slipping. We machine it to your drawing, not from a catalog. Every 52 type collet with a front view hex bore is verified for concentricity and bore geometry before shipment.

  • Tolerance: ±0.005 mm on bore and taper
  • Lead time: 12 working days for standard materials
  • No MOQ – order 1 piece or 1,000
  • Material certs and full inspection report included

This is a precision manufacturing part. We do not guess. We measure.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck Auto Lathe 60 Type Round Bore

We run these on Citizen and Star auto lathes for final fit, but the collet itself is machined on our CNC turning centers with live tooling. Hex bore is cut by wire EDM to avoid tool deflection. No burrs, no edge rounding.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality Each batch gets a unique number. We record material heat number, machine operator, and inspection results. If you have a problem on line 3, we trace it to the exact batch in minutes. No excuses.

2. Inspection report per batch You get a PDF with actual measured values, not just a pass/fail stamp. Bore diameter, taper angle, concentricity, hardness – all listed. Your QC team can match our numbers against their own gauges. They will agree.

3. One factory for CNC, stamping, springs, and heat sinks You do not need three suppliers. We machine the collet, stamp the retainer plate, make the spring for the collet closer, and if your machine needs a heat sink for the spindle drive, we make that too. One purchase order, one shipping date, one responsible party.

Where these parts are used

A 52 type collet with a hex bore is not a generic part. It is used where round collets fail.

  • Auto lathes (Cam and CNC): Holding hex brass or steel bar for high-volume screw machine parts – fittings, terminals, valve cores.
  • Swiss-type lathes: For guide bushings and main spindles when the raw bar is hex, not round. Common in medical device and aerospace fastener production.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fittings: Hex bar stock is machined into bodies and connectors. The collet must grip flats without marring the surface finish.
  • Fastener cold heading: Pre-machined hex blanks are fed into headers. The collet positions the blank within ±0.01 mm, or the die cracks.
  • Electrical connectors: Brass hex bars for terminal pins and sockets. Our collet holds the hex shape true, so the machined thread is concentric to the flats.

If you are cutting hex bar on a lathe, you already know the pain of a collet that slips or marks the stock. That is why we grind the bore, not just turn it.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ? A: No MOQ. We make one piece for prototype validation. For production runs, we offer tiered pricing – 1–50, 51–200, 201–1,000, and above. You pay for quality, not for minimums.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and concentricity? A: We machine to ±0.005 mm on the bore and taper. Every collet is checked on a CMM and a precision air gauge. We send you the inspection report with the shipment. If a part is out of spec, we replace it at no cost, including freight.

Q: What is your lead time? A: Standard is 12 working days from drawing approval. For a rush order, we can deliver in 5 working days at a 15% surcharge. Material availability affects this – 20CrMnTi is always in stock, but if you specify a rare alloy, add 3 days.

Q: Do you provide material certificates? A: Yes. Every batch comes with a mill certificate for the raw material, plus our own hardness test report. If you need third-party testing (SGS or BV), we arrange it at cost. We are a made-in-China factory with 20 years of export experience – paperwork is not a problem.

Send your drawing

We quote firm within 12 hours. Send your PDF or STEP file. We check the hex size, taper angle, and material. You get a price and a delivery date. No hidden costs.
