Opening

You need a collet that grips true on the hex, not just the corners. We machine each hex bore collet to your exact drawing—internal profile, pullback angle, and slot geometry. Every set is verified with a CMM before shipment. No guesswork, no rework on your spindle.

  • Tolerance: ±0.005 mm on bore and taper
  • Lead time: 10–15 working days for standard sets
  • No MOQ: order one set or fifty
  • Material: 20CrMnTi or 8620, case-hardened to 58–62 HRC
  • Inspection report included with every batch

Custom CNC Collet Chuck 46 Type Triangle Bore Spring Collet

We run these on Citizen and Star Swiss-type lathes for the body, then finish the hex bore with wire EDM. This gives a clean, burr-free internal profile that holds hex stock without marking it. For sets, we match each collet to its sleeve and test fit with a master hex bar before packing.

Three Reasons Buyers Send Us Their Drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Every collet gets a unique batch code. We record heat treat curves, grinding pass counts, and final inspection data against that code. If a problem shows up in your line, we trace it to the exact furnace load and operator shift. You get a PDF report with each shipment, not just a box of parts.

2. Inspection report per batch. We measure taper angle, bore size, concentricity, and hardness on every piece in the batch—not a sampling. The report lists each collet’s actual values against your drawing tolerances. If a value is out, that collet is scrapped, not shipped. You can audit our numbers with your own CMM; they will match.

3. One factory for CNC, stamping, springs, and heat sinks. Your collet chuck might need a spring pusher, a stamped retainer plate, or a heat sink for the draw tube. We make all of those in the same building. One purchase order, one quality system, one shipping date. No coordinating three suppliers across time zones. This is precision manufacturing made in China without the usual friction.

Where These Parts Are Used

  • Swiss-type automatic lathes – holding hex bar stock for screw machine parts, where round collets would let the hex twist.
  • CNC turning centers with pull-back collet chucks – for second-operation work on hex nuts, fittings, and valve components.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic collet chucks – where the hex bore needs to align with the spindle centerline within microns.
  • Automotive fuel system components – hex body fittings that must not be scored during machining.
  • Medical device manufacturing – small hex implants and instruments where surface finish and repeatability are critical.
  • Aerospace fasteners – hex bolts and sockets that need a secure grip without deformation at high spindle speeds.

The 15–52 mm range covers most common hex sizes from M10 to M36 stock. If you need outside that range, send the drawing—we’ll make it.

Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering

Q: Is there a minimum order quantity? A: No. We make one collet or a full set. The unit price is higher for single pieces, but the quality process is identical. Many buyers order one set to test, then scale up once it runs well.

Q: What tolerance can you hold on the hex bore? A: ±0.005 mm on the across-flats dimension, with concentricity to the taper at 0.003 mm. We measure with a CMM and a calibrated hex master. If your drawing calls for tighter, we’ll quote it—but 0.005 mm is our standard for production.

Q: What is your lead time for a custom set? A: 10–15 working days from drawing approval. This includes material sourcing, heat treat, grinding, and final inspection. For a rush order, we can do 7 days at a 15% surcharge. We ship via DHL or FedEx, door to door.

Q: Can you provide material certificates? A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for the raw material, heat treat reports with hardness curves, and a dimensional inspection report per batch. All documents are in English and stamped by our QC manager. If your customer needs PPAP level 3, we can do that too.
