Opening

Your drawing becomes a finished collet chuck, not a compromise. We machine it from raw stock to your exact hex bore dimensions, then verify the bore and taper before shipment. No guesswork, no “close enough.”

  • Tolerance: ±0.005 mm on bore and taper
  • Lead time: 7–12 working days for prototypes
  • No MOQ: order one piece or one thousand
  • Material: 20CrMnTi, 65Mn, or 9CrSi, case-hardened to HRC 58–62
  • Inspection report included with every batch

We are a precision manufacturing factory in Dongguan, China, with 20 years of CNC machining experience. This collet chuck is made for auto lathes, CNC lathes, and Swiss-type machines where a standard round bore fails. If the hex size, taper angle, or slot geometry is non-standard, we make it exactly.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck 20 Type Auto Lathe Round Bar Stock

Every collet is individually serial-numbered. The inspection report lists bore size, taper angle, hardness, and surface finish. We keep a sample from each batch for 12 months.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each heat treatment batch is logged with furnace number and time. Each machining batch has its own inspection record. If a problem shows up on your line, we can trace it to the exact operation and operator. You get a PDF report with actual measured values, not just a pass/fail sticker.

2. Inspection report per batch. We use a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) for taper and bore geometry, a Rockwell hardness tester for HRC, and a profilometer for surface roughness. The report is sent with the shipment. You do not need to re-inspect every piece—spot-check and trust the numbers.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + springs + heat sinks. Your collet chuck might need a spring retainer, a stamped washer, or a heat sink for the spindle motor. We make all of those in the same building. You send one drawing package, we coordinate the processes, and you receive one shipment with one invoice. Fewer suppliers, fewer delays, fewer arguments.

Where these parts are used

Custom CNC collet chucks with hex bores are not shelf items. They show up in specific, high-volume production lines:

  • Auto lathe bar feeders: Holding hexagonal bar stock (brass, aluminum, steel) for screw machine parts like fittings, valves, and connectors. The hex bore prevents rotation during machining.
  • Swiss-type CNC lathes: For small-diameter hex stock in medical device components—bone screws, dental implants, and surgical instrument parts where round collets slip.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fittings: Machining hex blanks for banjo bolts, pipe plugs, and coupling nuts. The collet holds the hex firmly without marking the surface.
  • Fastener manufacturing: Driving hex socket heads for cap screws and set screws in secondary operations like slotting or cross-drilling.
  • Custom spindle adapters: When a machine has a non-standard taper (e.g., a worn or modified spindle), we machine the collet to match your existing seat, not the catalog standard.

If your part has a hex cross-section and you are using a round collet with a shim, that is wasted time and scrap. A custom hex bore collet eliminates both.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your minimum order quantity? A: No MOQ. We make one prototype for testing, then you scale up. Prototype pricing is slightly higher per piece, but production pricing drops at 100, 500, and 1,000 pieces. We send a tiered quote with your drawing.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality? A: We machine to ±0.005 mm on the bore and taper, then grind after hardening. Every piece is measured on a CMM, and the report is included. If a piece is out of spec, we replace it at no cost, including freight.

Q: What is your typical lead time? A: Prototypes in 7–12 working days after drawing approval. Production runs of 500+ pieces in 15–20 working days. Heat treatment adds 2–3 days. We confirm the exact date in the quotation.

Q: Can you provide material certificates and heat treatment reports? A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for raw material (chemical composition) and heat treatment reports (hardness, case depth, furnace log). All documents are in English and shipped with the goods.

Send your drawing

Send us your PDF or STEP file. We will check the hex size, taper angle, and slot geometry, then send a firm quote within 12 hours. Include your material preference and annual quantity—we will suggest the most cost-effective option.
