Your 36 type collet is machined to your exact drawing, not to a stock catalog. We hold the critical dimensions—bore diameter, slot width, and pin slot position—within ±0.005 mm before we ship. Each unit is 100% inspected with a calibrated air gauge and CMM report.
At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on bore, surface finish Ra 0.4, lead time 7–10 working days, no MOQ. One piece or one thousand, same process control.
This is a custom CNC collet chuck, made in China, from our Dongguan factory. We have run this exact part type for 20 years. You send the drawing, we return a firm quote and a manufacturing plan.

Inspection
100% dimensional check, material cert, hardness report
We use CNC Swiss-type lathes for the body and wire EDM for the pin slot. Heat treatment is done in-house with a vacuum furnace to avoid decarburization. The slot edges are deburred and radiused to your spec—no sharp edges that catch on the spindle.
Three reasons buyers send us their drawings
1. Batch-traceable quality. Every collet gets a unique heat number. We record the material batch, machine operator, and inspection data for each lot. If a part fails in your spindle, we can trace it to the exact heat treatment cycle and cutting tool. No guesswork.
2. Inspection report per batch. You get a full dimensional report with every shipment—not a generic certificate. It lists bore diameter, slot width, pin slot position, hardness, and surface roughness for each sampled unit. We also send photos of the CMM probe points if you want them.
3. One factory for CNC + stamping + springs + heat sinks. Your collet chuck might be part of a larger assembly. We make the collet, the spring that actuates it, the stamped retainer plate, and the heat sink that cools the spindle—all under one roof. Fewer suppliers, fewer tolerance stack-ups, one shipping address.
Where these parts are used
A 36 type collet with a pin slot is a workholding component for automatic lathes and Swiss-type machines. It grips bar stock or pre-machined parts during turning, milling, and drilling operations.
Swiss-type CNC lathes (Citizen, Star, Tsugami) for medical screws and dental implants
Multi-spindle automatics for automotive fuel injector nozzles and valve guides
Hydraulic or pneumatic chucks on secondary operations—slotting, cross-drilling, gear hobbing
Indexing fixtures where the pin slot locks the collet orientation to a drive key
The pin slot is critical. It prevents rotation of the collet in the chuck body, so your tool path stays repeatable. If the slot is off by even 0.1 mm, you get chatter marks and inconsistent part lengths. We machine the slot from the same setup as the bore to keep them concentric.
Q: What is your MOQ?
A: No MOQ. We make one prototype or 50,000 pieces. The unit price drops with volume, but the first article is always inspected the same way.
Q: How do you guarantee tolerance on a collet slot?
A: We cut the slot with wire EDM after heat treatment. This avoids distortion from milling. We measure the slot width with a pin gauge set and the angular position with a CMM. The report is included with your shipment.
Q: What is your lead time for a custom collet?
A: 7–10 working days for a prototype, 15–20 days for production runs. If you need a rush, we can split the batch and ship the first 20% in 5 days.
Q: Can you provide material certificates?
A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for the raw material, heat treatment records, and hardness test reports. All are traceable to the batch number on the parts.
