Opening

Your drawing defines the part. We machine it exactly to that spec. Every collet is verified for bore geometry and hardness before shipment. No surprises on your spindle.

At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on bore, concentricity ≤0.01 mm TIR, hardness 58–62 HRC, lead time 7–12 days, no MOQ.

This is a 46-type auto lathe collet with a square bore, quenched for wear resistance. It is built for high-cycle production where grip force and repeatability matter. We make it from your print, not from a catalog.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck 36 Type Auto Lathe Precision Made in

We use CNC turning for the OD and face, then internal grinding for the round bore. The square bore is cut with wire EDM after hardening. This avoids distortion and keeps the edges sharp. Each collet is matched to a master gauge before packing.

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Every heat number and batch is recorded. If you need to trace a part back to its material lot, we have the paperwork. This is standard for us, not a special request.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a dimensional report with each shipment. It lists bore width, OD, concentricity, and hardness. No extra charge. You can verify the parts on your bench without waiting for a third-party lab.

3. One factory for CNC, stamping, springs, and heat sinks. Your collet is machined here. But if your assembly also needs a stamped bracket, a compression spring, or an aluminum heat sink, we quote it all in one email. One supplier, one shipping point, one invoice. This cuts your vendor management time in half.

We have run this factory for 20 years. The machines are not new, but they are maintained and calibrated. The operators know how to hold tight tolerances on small parts. This is precision manufacturing, not mass production.

Where these parts are used

A 46-type square bore collet is used in automatic lathes, mainly Swiss-type and sliding headstock machines. The square bore grips square or hex stock without marking the surface. Common applications:

  • Fastener production: Gripping square stock for hex bolts and nuts.
  • Electrical connectors: Holding square brass or copper pins during turning.
  • Hydraulic fittings: Clamping square steel bar for port machining.
  • Medical device parts: Small square titanium or stainless components for surgical instruments.
  • Watch and instrument parts: Precision square shafts for clock movements.

In each case, the collet must hold the stock rigidly at high spindle speeds. The quenched surface resists wear from repeated clamping cycles. A soft collet will lose grip after a few thousand cycles. Ours holds tolerance past 100,000 cycles.

The square bore is not a standard off-the-shelf item. It requires wire EDM and careful heat treatment. That is why buyers send us their drawings instead of searching for a stock part.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: Is there a minimum order quantity? A: No. We accept one piece for prototype or replacement use. Production runs are quoted at the same per-piece rate as larger batches, with no setup penalty for small quantities.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality? A: We use a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for bore geometry and a Rockwell hardness tester for every batch. The inspection report is included with shipment. If a part is out of spec, we replace it at no cost.

Q: What is the lead time for a custom collet? A: Prototype is 7 days from drawing approval. Production runs of 100 pieces or more are 12 days. Heat treatment and wire EDM are the longest steps. We can rush a single piece in 3 days for an extra fee.

Q: Can you provide material certificates? A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for the raw steel, heat treatment reports, and a certificate of conformity. All are available in English and can be sent with the packing list or by email.
