Your drawing defines the part. We define the process to hold it. This auto lathe collet set covers 34, 36, 38, and 40 series. We machine each collet from solid bar stock. We verify every critical dimension before shipment.
No guesswork. No off-the-shelf approximations. You get a collet that grips true and repeats.
At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on bore and taper. Lead time 7–10 days for standard materials. No MOQ. Full material certification with every batch.

We run these on Citizen and Star sliding-head lathes for the collet body. Then we grind the bore and taper on a Studer universal grinder. Slotting is done on a wire EDM for zero burr and consistent width.
Three reasons buyers send us their drawings
1. Batch-traceable quality. Every heat treatment batch gets a unique code. We record hardness, case depth, and dimensional data against that code. If a problem appears in your production, we trace it to the exact batch and date. You get a full report, not a vague apology.
2. Inspection report per batch. Each batch ships with a dimensional inspection report. It lists bore diameter, taper angle, slot width, and hardness values. We use a CMM and a Rockwell hardness tester. The report is signed by our QC engineer. You can verify every number on receipt.
3. One factory for CNC, stamping, springs, and heat sinks. Your collet set is not an isolated part. It works inside a machine that may also use our stamped washers, compression springs, or cooling components. One purchase order, one quality standard, one shipping point. We have run this factory for 20 years. We know how to coordinate multiple lines without delays.
Where these parts are used
These collets grip bar stock in automatic lathes. They hold round, hexagonal, or square material during turning, drilling, and threading operations.
Typical applications:
Swiss-type screw machines – gripping small diameter bar stock for watch parts, medical screws, and electronic connectors.
Multi-spindle automatics – high-volume production of brass fittings, aluminum housings, and steel fasteners.
CNC turning centers – secondary operations where quick changeover matters.
Hydraulic and pneumatic clamping systems – where collet accuracy directly affects part concentricity.
If your machine uses a 34, 36, 38, or 40 series collet, we can machine a replacement or a custom variant. We also make stepped collets, emergency collets, and pick-off collets on request.
Q: What is your MOQ?
A: No MOQ. We accept one piece for testing. Production pricing starts at 50 pieces per size. We keep tooling costs low by using standard blanks for most series.
Q: How do you control tolerance and quality?
A: We grind the bore and taper after heat treatment. This removes distortion from hardening. We measure every collet with a bore gauge and a sine bar. Hardness is tested on a Rockwell scale per batch. We reject any part outside ±0.005 mm on the bore.
Q: What is your lead time for a custom collet?
A: Prototype in 7–10 days after drawing approval. Production runs of 500 pieces take 15–20 days. For urgent orders, we can expedite to 5 days at a 15% surcharge. We ship worldwide via DHL or FedEx.
Q: Can you provide material certificates?
A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for the raw material with every shipment. Heat treatment reports are included for hardened collets. If you need third-party inspection, we arrange it at cost.
