Your drawing defines the part. Our job is to hold that tolerance and prove it. We machine auto lathe collets and guide bushing sets to your exact geometry, from material selection to final surface finish. Every set is verified before shipment—no exceptions.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Material | AISI 4140, 8620, 12L14, SUS303, or per drawing |
| Hardness | 58–62 HRC (case-hardened), core 28–32 HRC |
| Process | CNC turning, grinding, wire EDM for slots |
| Tolerance | ±0.005 mm on bore, ±0.01 mm on OD |
| Surface finish | Ra 0.4 µm on taper, Ra 0.8 µm elsewhere |
| Concentricity | ≤0.005 mm TIR between bore and taper |
| Guide bushing OD tolerance | ±0.002 mm for press-fit applications |
| Batch size | 1 to 10,000 pieces |
| Inspection | CMM report, air gauge, and optical comparator per batch |
| Lead time | 10–15 days prototype, 7–10 days repeat |
We run these on Citizen and Star sliding-head lathes with in-process gauging. Grinding is done on Studer and Junker machines for the final taper and bore. Slots are cut via wire EDM to avoid burrs and maintain edge sharpness.
1. Batch-traceable quality. Each heat lot is logged. Hardness, case depth, and plating thickness are recorded per batch. If a problem shows up in your line, we can trace it to the exact operation and shift.
2. Inspection report per batch. You get a full report—CMM points, air gauge readings, and surface finish values. No generic certificates. We measure what matters for a collet: bore diameter, taper angle, and concentricity.
3. One factory for CNC, stamping, springs, and heat sinks. Your collet set might need a spring collet, a stamped retainer, or a heat sink for the spindle. We make all of them under one roof. Fewer suppliers, fewer handoffs, fewer excuses.
Custom CNC collet chucks with guide bushings are standard in Swiss-type lathes and automatic screw machines. You will find them in:
The guide bushing supports the bar stock right at the cutting zone. That means you can hold tight tolerances on long, slender parts without deflection. Our sets are used in high-volume production lines where downtime costs more than the tooling.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity? A: No MOQ. We machine one prototype set or 10,000 pieces at the same tolerance. Tooling and setup are the same; only the cycle time changes.
Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality? A: We use in-process gauging during grinding and a final CMM inspection on every batch. The report is included with shipment. If a part is out of spec, we replace it at no cost, including freight.
Q: What is your lead time for a custom CNC collet chuck? A: Prototypes ship in 10–15 working days after drawing approval. Repeat orders are faster—7–10 days—because we keep tooling and programs on file.
Q: Can you provide material certificates and heat treatment reports? A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for raw material and a hardness report for each heat treatment batch. If you need third-party testing, we can arrange it at cost.
Send us your 2D or 3D file. We will review the geometry, suggest material and hardness if needed, and give you a firm quote within 12 hours. No guesswork, no hidden costs.
