Opening

Your ER8 collet chuck starts as a drawing, not a stock photo. We machine it from solid bar stock or forging, cut the threads to class 2A/2B, and grind the taper to a guaranteed 0.005 mm TIR. Every unit is verified on a CMM before it ships from our Dongguan factory.

At a glance: Tolerance ±0.005 mm on taper, surface finish Ra 0.4 µm, lead time 7-12 days, no MOQ, full material traceability.

Custom CNC Collet Chuck BT40 ER16 Tool Holder

Three reasons buyers send us their drawings

1. Batch-traceable quality. Each heat number is recorded. Each batch gets a unique code. If a problem appears in your assembly line, we trace it to the exact machine, operator, and material lot. No guesswork.

2. Inspection report per batch. You get a dimensional report with actual measured values, not a "pass/fail" checkbox. Taper angle, runout, thread pitch, hardness — all listed. We keep the raw data for 5 years.

3. One factory for CNC + stamping + spring + heatsink. Your collet chuck might need a spring collet, a stamped retainer, or a heatsink for a spindle motor. We make all four in the same building. One purchase order, one quality system, one shipping date. You save 2-3 weeks of supplier coordination.

Where these parts are used

Custom CNC collet chucks are not shelf items. They go into:

  • Swiss-type lathes — ER8 collets hold small-diameter stock (1-7 mm) for medical bone screws, watch pins, and dental implants.

  • Tool presetters — precision collet nuts for holding reference tools during measurement.

  • Automated pallet systems — where a chuck must repeat within 0.005 mm across thousands of cycles.

  • PCB drilling spindles — ER8 collets for micro-drills (0.3-3 mm) in high-speed spindles up to 60,000 RPM.

  • Custom fixturing — when a standard ER chuck does not fit the machine spindle nose, we machine the mounting flange to your taper or bolt pattern.

We also make the matching collet nuts with special drive slots, extended lengths, or non-standard hex shapes. If you have a worn-out chuck from a German or Japanese machine, send us the sample. We reverse-engineer it and improve the hardness.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Q: What is your MOQ?A: No MOQ. We make one piece for prototype validation and 10,000 pieces for production. The price per piece drops with quantity, but the first article is always machined and inspected the same way.

Q: How do you guarantee tolerance and quality?A: We grind the taper on a cylindrical grinder with in-process gauging. Then we check every critical dimension on a CMM. The inspection report is included with the shipment. If any dimension is out of spec, we replace the part at no cost — including freight.

Q: What is the lead time for a custom CNC collet chuck?A: Standard ER8 collet chuck with nut: 7 days. Custom taper or thread: 10-12 days. For urgent breakdowns, we can rush a single piece in 72 hours at a 30% surcharge. We run two shifts, so your job is not waiting for a machine to free up.

Q: Can you provide material certificates and heat treatment reports?A: Yes. We supply mill certificates for the raw material and a heat treatment report with hardness curves. For aerospace or medical applications, we also provide a full chemical composition analysis from an independent lab.
